Mixing henna paste is both a small science and a beautiful ritual. With the right method, Sun Henna powder becomes smooth, creamy, easy to apply, and capable of producing a rich natural stain. This guide is made for clients and artists in Morocco who want to prepare safe, chemical-free henna paste at home, in a studio, or for bridal and event work.

To begin, prepare your tools: Sun Henna powder, lemon juice, a small amount of sugar, and a skin-safe essential oil commonly used for henna mixing, such as lavender, cajeput, or tea tree. Use a clean bowl and spoon, and work slowly. The goal is not to rush the paste, but to build a texture that feels controlled and professional.

For a basic mix, start with 100g of natural henna powder. Add lemon juice little by little while stirring until the paste becomes thick, similar to toothpaste. Add one teaspoon of sugar to help the paste stick better to the skin, then mix in one to two teaspoons of essential oil. Cover the bowl tightly and let the paste rest for 6 to 12 hours at room temperature. This resting period allows dye release, which is what helps the henna stain become deeper.

Once ready, fill your cone or applicator bottle. Apply the paste to clean, dry, oil-free skin. Let the design dry naturally, then use a light lemon-sugar sealant if needed. For the best stain, leave the paste on for several hours, scrape it off gently, and avoid water for the first 24 hours.

This method is ideal for Moroccan henna artists, bridal mehndi sessions, festival designs, and personal use. With good aftercare, a natural Sun Henna stain can last from one to three weeks depending on skin type, body placement, warmth, and care.
